Terms of use
This is a draft. It covers skinlately.com and the free browser tools, written in plain language so it can actually be read. It has not been through a lawyer yet and will be before the app ships. App subscription terms will be separate and will live with the App Store listing.
1. What this site is
SkinLately is a skincare habit product. This website provides information and two free browser tools. Cosmetic wellness only · not medical advice. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a treatment, or a substitute for a qualified professional. If something on your skin worries you, see one.
2. The free tools
Free, no account, no usage limit, for personal or commercial use, no attribution required. They run entirely in your browser, which means we cannot see what you do with them and could not restrict it if we wanted to.
They are provided as-is. They are simple measurements of pixel brightness and simple image composition, and they can be wrong about whether a photo is good. Use judgement.
3. Your images stay yours
You keep every right to any image you load into a tool and to anything you download from one. Loading an image gives us no rights of any kind, which is straightforward, because the image never reaches us in the first place.
4. Our content
The writing, design and code on this site are ours. Quote us — with a link, and with the date, since pages get updated. Do not republish a guide wholesale. If you want to use something more substantially, ask; the answer is usually yes.
5. Accuracy of the content
We cite sources with retrieval dates and we say when something is a brand blog rather than a professional body or a paper. Sources change, and we do not endorse any of them. Ranges quoted from sources are ranges, not predictions about you. Where we do not have a number, we say we do not have a number — and if you find that we got something wrong, tell us and it will be corrected and dated.
6. The email form
Giving us an email gets you one message when the app is on the App Store. It is not a newsletter, it is not sold, and you can ask to be removed at any time. See Privacy.
7. The app is not this
This website is not the product and does not scan anything. The app has its own terms and its own subscription, purchased through Apple. $2.99 a week or $29.99 a year, after a 3-day free trial. Cancel any time. No payment is ever taken on this website.
8. Liability
This site and its tools are provided without warranty. We are not liable for decisions made using them — including decisions about products, routines, or anything to do with your health. That is not a formality: a lighting checker that says "good" is telling you about the light in your room and nothing else.
9. Changes
These terms will change, particularly once a lawyer has read them. The date at the top is the version. hello@skinlately.com for anything at all.
